Xolo is one of the new Android One partners that were announced recently. After the announcement, seniors from Lava International (Xolo’s parent company) had expressed that their Android One phones would have certain degree of customization thanks to their in house R&D facility at Bengaluru. It was expected that the company will launch it’s Android One lineup around December. But, our sources have been confirmed that Xolo is supposedly launching it’s handset before the Diwali season so as to have the first mover advantage from the second lot of Android One partners.
TechSutra has exclusive information that Xolo One could be available this coming week and would be priced between 5,500 rupees and 6,000 rupees. This Android One phone however seems very different from the offerings from Spice, Karbonn and Micromax which are clones of each other in everything from specifications to design. Xolo has decided to give the phone a bit of premium finish. It is noteworthy to see the Xolo logo on the front panel which translates that the handset vendor may have more control over the manufacturing of the phone unlike the others
The specifications are expected to be similar to the current Android One lineup. A Mediatek quadcore chip with 1 GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. The battery and camera resolutions are still unknown but it is likely to be under 2000mAh and 5MP Rear Shooter. We can see a LED Flash on the device and the camera having a chrome lining which adds to the elegance of the phone along with the matte finish back panel. The phone will be available in 4 colours viz., Black, White, Red and Copper Brown. One factor which has kept us guessing is that the Home Screen shows Jellybean like appearance which should be a mistake during the graphical work as the phone is ought to come with Latest Kitkat Android OS.
We will keep you updated on Xolo One and other Android One launches.
